The Team at Owen River Lodge
We’re proud of our lodge and facilities but we never lose sight of the fact that without people, it’s just a collection of buildings (albeit very nice ones!). Only people can breathe life into infrastructure and transform it into something meaningful and rich. Owen River Lodge is fortunate to have a special team that does just that, each and every day.
There’s a type of magic that can only happen when you find the right group of committed people. Our team started with an ordinary Kiwi country farmhouse and transformed it into one of the world’s great fishing lodges. These folks are the essence of Owen River Lodge and we’d like to introduce them to you.
This is Ryan’s ninth season as head chef at Owen River Lodge. He’s an innovative chef who loves cooking with fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. Check out TripAdvisor to hear about his fabulous food.
Jo is our talented weekend chef, who has been cooking in luxury fishing lodges for over 20 years. Jo joined Owen River Lodge in 2012 and is an avid horse rider who loves painting (oils) and downhill skiing.
This is Kylie’s third season at Owen River Lodge, Kylie helps Felix run the lodge and is our FFI certified casting instructor.
Felix owns Owen River Lodge and aspires to develop it into one of the world’s great fishing lodges. Help him achieve his quest by staying with us and telling us what we can do better.
Sharna, a kiwi fly fisher from the Taranaki, joined our team of merry fishers in October 2018 after working a couple seasons in an Alaskan fishing lodge. Sharna is our hostess.
