For the third year running, Owen River Lodge has been named a winner in the Australia & South Pacific category of Condé Nast Traveler’s Reader’s Choice Awards.

In 2022 we were one of only two luxury resorts in New Zealand to make the grade..

This is an award that we definitely can’t win ourselves. Your votes win it for us. And so here are three special thank-yous—one for each year you’ve made Owen River Lodge a winner.

Thank you #1: For taking the time and trouble to vote for us
I know that it’s time-consuming and that you probably get avalanched with promotional emails from Condé Nast Traveler afterwards. But you do it anyway. How could I not feel grateful in the face of that? Thank you.

Thank you #2: For voting in multiple years
Once is wonderful. Twice is terrific. Three times is mind-blowing. In the face of the loyalty you show us, how could we not do everything in our power to give you incredible luxury fly-fishing experiences? Thank you.

Thank you #3: For voting even when you couldn’t stay here
It’s been at least two years since many of you stayed with us—and yet through all the uncertainty of closed borders, you kept giving us your support. How could that not make this lodge owner feel humbled? Thank you.

We’re going to keep earning it
Owen River Lodge has just opened for what’s going to be the busiest season we’ve ever had. We’re booked solid, with a just a couple of openings left in April.

I’m very much looking forward to welcoming so many of you back. There’s plenty to catch up on. It’s going to be brilliant. And my team and I will work our hardest to give you the very best experience ever.
