| Welcome to our first newsletter for the new season! | |
| It's hard to believe, but the new season is now 8 weeks old - and what a start it’s been! Early season is traditionally a mixture of changeable weather, high river levels and great fishing - when the weather cooperates. And this season has proved to be exactly that - we've had high river levels, cloudy days and our fair share of rainy days.... Even with the less than ideal weather conditions guests have enjoyed some sensational fishing. | |
| Tom & Joe are two fishing mates from Melbourne, this is the 4th time they have stayed and fishing at Owen River Lodge in our early season – and you can see why they keep coming back | |

| Australian fly fishing author and editor of the Fly Fisher magazine, Philip Weigall stayed here a couple weeks ago. Philip & I fished hard for 3 days (sun, wind and rain) and had an absolute ball landing 33 browns in the 3 days. We fished 2 local streams and helicoptered into one of the wilderness rivers near-by. Philip has a lot to answer for – he taught me to fly fish some 15 years ago ! | |
