The new season has well and truly begun. Thankfully, we are having our busiest early season ever with the added bonus of having lots of repeat guests visiting us. The lead up to the season opening was very wet, with September recording one of the highest rainfalls for decades. Our October was one of the driest in recent memory, with lots of sunny days and many well-conditioned brown trout caught. The fish caught thus far have all been in very good -excellent condition, with anglers catching as many as 12 browns in one day. Our first guests for the season were Michael & Karen from Tasmania. They were staying with us to celebrate Michael’s 40th birthday. Thankfully the fish cooperated with Michael and he had a fantastic trip catching over 20 cunning brown trout – up to 8lb ! |

| Typically for early season, we have had a good mix of fish caught on dry flies. With a number of our local streams producing good hatches around the middle of the day. | Whilst David & Wayne were here, we also had the pleasure of Ned & Tish returning for their 3rd fix of Owen River Lodge hospitality. | |

| Mid November saw John from rural Victoria return for his 4th visit to Owen River Lodge. John had a sensational trip landing his biggest brown trout ever, which weighed in at a touch over 8lb. He had another great day fishing the Owen from right outside the lodge landing 9 browns from 4 > 6lb. | |

| Jim from Hawaii had a fantastic 4 days of sighted fishing to our brown trout. He landed many fish was rewarded on his last day with a 9lb+ brown. | |
