| Well, season 2007–2008 will go down as a season of weather contrasts! | |
|

| It started raining on the 30th of September, and when it stopped just over 2 weeks later we had a little over 55 cm of rain - that's a 1/3rd of our annual rain fall! All that rain was a pain to fish in - but it did a wonderful job cleaning up most of the local rivers. This was followed by a long, hot, sunny summer with temperatures around the mid 20's for days. With no rain for up to 8 weeks at a time parts of Nelson went to water restrictions! Apart from the weather - a lot of fishing & laughing was done…… Peter & Jenny from Brisbane stayed with us for a few days in November. Whilst staying with us Peter & Jenny had their first experience fly fishing for trout - Jenny ending up with 3 for her first day ! |

| It's always wonderful when guests return for another adventure at Owen River Lodge. Recently we had the pleasure of Bill Classon & Chris Parkinson from Freshwater Fishing & The Flyfisher magazines return for another chapter of South Island fishing. | |
They spent 5 days catching some magnificent browns in our local streams & then ventured up the mountains for some high country lake fishing

| A growing part of our business is hosting corporate groups. Boral bought 8 of their clients to the lodge to learn the art of fly fishing. Over 3 days many fish were caught and the stories each night got bigger and bigger ! | |

| Jude, our chef, is occasionally allowed out of the kitchen. Ever the thrill seeker she convinced one of our guests –Jenny Squires–to cross the Buller River the fast way | |

| As usual we have a few projects that we will complete over winter, the major one being the construction of 2 more guest cottage suites. This will mean we can accommodate up to 12 guests in 6 cottage suites. | |
|
|
